That's right, getting help with your debt through debt relief programs can get you out of debt at lightening speed. Maybe that's exaggerating a tad, but most of them can and will have you out of debt in five years or less. (Compare that to the 20 years or more it will take you otherwise.) You might be wondering why you can't just do it yourself like you're doing now. How's that working out for you, by the way? Uh-huh, that's what we thought. It's not. But it's not your fault! Chances are, by now you've stopped using your credit cards as much as possible, but you can only afford to swing the minimums each month. Yet you seem to be making no progress, right? It's frustrating. (Been there, done that!) The reason you feel like you're taking one step forward and two steps back this way is because when you just pay the required minimum, only a fraction of that payment goes toward what you actually owe. In fact, most of it goes toward interest and finance charges. That's why choosing a debt relief program is better.
Most debt relief programs operate by getting you drastic reductions in interest rate. Some debt relief programs can even get your overall balance reduced too. It all depends on which debt relief programs you qualify for. And only a debt relief company an tell you that. Here are the five basic debt relief programs and their basic qualifications:
- Debt consolidation - Need to be employed
- Debt consolidation loans - Need collateral
- Debt consolidation mortgages - Need to be a homeowner to qualify
- Debt settlement - Need access to a lot of cash
- Student loan debt consolidation - Need to have at least $10,00 in outstanding student loan debt
The sooner you get started on one of these debt relief services, the sooner you'll be out of debt's clutches.
